Some Things You Should Know

I started this blog a long time ago as when it was "What's Cooking at My house" and before my mad photography skills kicked in and before we went gluten free. With that said you never know what you might find here. There's a little something for everyone I believe. But my hope is to provide more recipes with better photos to tempt your tummy. *smile*

Question!

If you could have a how to video or tutorial of anything that had to do with cooking, what would it be?
What do you struggle with most?

Thank you for your time in answering!

Baking with yeast and dough, I don't know why but it totally intimidates me, I always shy away from doing it that way.

Some new ideas to pack for my husband's lunches. He has access to a microwave.

Hmmm - just don't know! How to be faster with food prep? How to make everything ready at the same time? How to not have a big pile of dirty dishes after I'm done cooking? Those are my biggest issues! :) Oh - and canning stuff. That's what you should show us. ;)

How about all of the above? It seems like the harder I work in the kitchen, the harder I struggle. You're so creative. I can't wait to see what you end up doing!

Baking with yeast, which seems to be a biggie for most.
Second would be healthy cooking that everyone will eat even my picky eaters.

Storing and freezing food! I'm always trying to prep food ahead of time and/or freeze meals for later, but I seem to not be able to figure out portions and weird stuff like that. I made extra pizza dough once and froze two portions, but now I don't remember what to do with it. Do I just defrost it and use it? Does it need to rise? UGH!

Is it called freezer cooking? I'm not sure... It's where you buy a bunch of ingredients and get them ready all at one time and then you freeze them making weeknights much easier for the working mom. Is it called freezer cooking? Meal planning? Cooking a bunch all at once? Not sure, but I know you know what I mean!!!! :)

Cooking with whole wheat flours. There are so many different types. I know about some, but I'd love a run down on them all. Nutrition differences, how they cook, etc.

I love watching anything on a cooking show. I learn a lot from how to demonstrations. My biggest issue in my kitchen is how to get my kids to like to try new things. LOL

Bread (cooking with yeast) and pastry. I watch heaps of cooking shows and find them very useful (then I buy the cook book to add to my collect)

Presentation of the food--making it look pretty when it is served. Especially like for a party or special occasion. Chocolate dipping such as making some candies or strawberries would also be good.

Buttermilk biscuits from scracth. I can't do them to save me. OR, how about how to press a pizza dough into shape without having it crawl back toward the center? Can you do that? Every time I make stromboli, I go nuts chasing that dough.

Love ya loads, cheffy chum!
Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

I hate not to have an original answer, but yeast scares me, so anything along those lines would be great.

Would love for cheese-makin momma to post a video on making cheese from scratch! That facinates me! Also yogurt from scratch would be kinda neat too!

Bread would top me list but also the food presentation is an area I struggle in. Salad dressings from scratch sound good too!!

I struggle with the clean-up afterwards. LoL! Hmm. One thing I've always wanted to learn about is canning or making preserves, so any infor on that would be helpful . . .
